We have discussed many blogging tactics and strategy for driving traffic and increasing Feed Subscriber, but have you ever analyzed your blog? Did you ever checked if your blog deserve those avid readers? NO! Then check it now . your blog sucks or your blog rocks?
Copied content: You have nothing new or original. Your blog is a parasite that survives on content leeched from other’s blog. I want to read a blogger not a scrapper. You really need to learn How To Write Great Content That Your Reader Can’t Ignore.

Too Many Barriers To Read Your Blog Post: I have struggle with Pop-up, Pop-under before I can read your content, and what those peel away banner is there at the corner, why you are creating so many obstacles for me? Have you ever heard about User Friendly Blog?
Hazardous Navigation: I can’t figure out how to move through your blog, there is no way I can find your old work, all I can see on your sidebar is Private ad banners and affiliate links. You should have saved some space for Popular post or Blog Archieve
Widget Jungle: I know you are active on many communities and micro blogging sites. But I am not interested in what you are doing on Twiter or Plurk , or how many Blogcatalog or Mybloglog users are visiting your blog. If you want me to subscribe to your RSS feed, then show me some real content.

Hi Sunil: Interesting reading here. One thing I would like to add is the possibility that bloggers might be ( as they should be ) evolving and improving themselves and their work as they learn new tips and advice from excellent sources such as your blog. Hence some of their earlier posts might not be as good as their newer ones. I know I have learnt new things from your site. Hence it is important that newcomers such as myself have the opportunity to learn from experienced folks such as yourself who are willing to share their knowledge. Thank you.

i get especially turned off my pop ups. i can tolerate most of the other problems, such as poor navigation, but when the first page i come across sets off a pop up, even if the blog has great content, i’m out of there.

@Writer Dad Scrapers are really killer for many blogs (because of duplicate content penalty)
@ kouji I know how painful it is, I use to employ adbrite’s pop-up service on Induslounge.com lately, but was fed up of hitting that cancel button after every page reload, which forced me to remove it completely
@Bruno Popular post and relative post are very useful plugins, and nothing please your reader more then finding information they want easily
@ AL you don’t really need to get your friends and families read your blog any more, you all ready have tons of people landing on your blog.
@Sara me too have unsubscribed to his fed, but I was fed up of his never ending china trip updates and the food he had with his friends and family there.

Here is another that really tick me off.
Slow website loading! Remove at least half of your 15 sidebar widget plugins and optimise those darn imges!

First and foremost, my blog does not suck. However, all of your points are true. I have seen a lot of bloggers come and go, and most of them fall victim to a few of those pitfalls you mentioned (such as too much ad space).

painful indeed. i mean i understand that authors are trying to bring certain ads perhaps to people’s attention, but i just don’t know if that kind of interference is worth it. and really as a reader, it makes me feel a bit negative towards the site.

My blog doesn’t suck though - it’s growing and doesn’t follow any of those points
This message sure does resonate with my thinking. If a site is lacking in value, promoting it is like investing in a company that produces nothing. It is not worth the time and sends the wrong message to some viewers of the site.
