What A New Blogger Shouldn’t Write

17 June 2008 24 views 3 Comments

While all the big guys are busy telling the world how and what to do to make your blog famous. And their tips have done wonderful job for many new bloggers (those who follow their tips). Bus as they say every coin has 2 sides. Blogging too has two sides “what to do and what not to do”. U have read many articles telling new bloggers what should be done to achieve their goal. Its time to check out the other side “what a new blogger shouldn’t do”.

Don’t write “How TO” Articles.
While it can make a great headline it is not advisable for new bloggers to write How to Articles. Like every Project reports How to articles needs solid stats to support it. And unless you have 6/8 months of blogging under your belt you are not going to have that stats to justify your claim. So moral of the story is waiting for 3 or 4 months before telling world “How to do this to Achieve that” unless you have achieved it.

No Make Money Online.
You know why all time nerds like john chow making 5/6 figures with his blogs? He have made few thousand dollars with his blogs before teaching how to make money with your blog. And as I said in my previous paragraph he had solid stats to have his say on Making Money Online.

Don’t join the Bandwagon of Pro Bloggers.
It’s a good idea to subscribe to big bloggers like Darren Rowse & Aaron Wall for great blogging and SEO ideas. But it is not good for your blog to write what these big guys all ready wrote. The only thing you should adopt from these guys is their writing techniques and the way they build their content around their Keywords.

Keep this 3 don’t do’s in your mind while writing your new blog Post. You will not only write good article you will save your self from awkward question your readers might ask you to justify your idea.

These are good tips. Much better to focus on a niche you know and enjoy.

Another tip should be to be cautious on what you do decide to write. Like don’t write about your boss or business unless you’re company knows about it. Don’t write about your children or family unless you’ve asked their ok.

I’m definitely not a blogging pro. I’m usually in a position of wanting to learn and then telling people what I have discovered (not in the MMO niche).
People are usually generous in sharing their own ideas as long as you’re not dictating to them.
