Practical Guide For Successful Blog
I may not be allowed to talk on successful blog, may be some of you will question my authority on subject while I my self is little more then a rookie. But I can resist the temptation of sharing what I have learned so far from other bloggers like Chris Garrett , Seth Godin and Darren Rowse. So here is my little secret for successful blog
Prepare your Blog
Every new venture need pre-launch preparation to make sure its ready to full feel all the requirement for success here are such pre-launch preparation you need to implement on your new blog before you promote it.
Reach 10 Post Milestone
It is good to have at least 10 post before your start promoting your. It will not only keep reader on your blog for longer time but also make your blog looks valuable and content reach. Have at least 5 Concrete articles. Concrete articles are generally tutorial type article aimed to teach your reader with lots of practical tips and advice.
Optimize your Blog Search Engine
Search Engine Optimization is crucial for your blog’s success. But before you start your SEO you need to optimize your blog for search engine, so the Google spider don’t have hard time indexing your blog content
Write SEO friendly contents
Writing SEO friendly content is very important part of blog promotion, but you need to do it without spoiling your reader’s experience. Fortunately it’s not a rocket science you can achieve this goal with simple SEO principals
Avoid Google Sandbox
Google Sandbox generally affect new blog/site which result in new site ranking lower in Search Engine Result page for few months. Promote your Blog
Once you have passed 1st phase get ready to promote your blog and let other people know about your new blog

Once you have 10 or more article (with 5 Concrete one) to engage your readers star promoting your contents with social networking/bookmarking sites like Digg Delicious Mixx and BlogEngage, Join Blogging communities like Blogcatalog, Mybloglog and Stumbleupon submit your articles to Blog Carnival
Comment on other Blogs in your niche.
Comment is probably the best tool to engage with other like minded people in blogsphere, Comment on other blog with valuable and relative information. If people like what you have been writing they will follow your link in search of more useful information. At the same time it will help you build network with likeminded blogger who share same interest and passion.
Linkout generously
Link to the blogger you are targeting a couple of times and reference their articles. It wont cost you anything but it may get you traffic and exposure in return. This is great way to let other know about your blog your support to their blog. Eventually you will be noticed, particularly if you send them some traffic.
Participate in community and forums
Join blogging community and forums like Authority Blogger & Blog Engage participate in conversations and help other bloggers to solve their problems. Provide value to your community and you will soon be tailed by loyal follower who will do mouth publicity of your blog.
Build Lasting Relation with your Blog reader
The community of readers plays an important role in blog’s success. You need to take special care of your reader base and build lasting relation with them engage them with your blog. Here are tips which will help you to do so.
Engage your readers.
You don’t need to do it with every new post your write, but it time to time present a question to your reader ask their opinion. Engage them in conversation. Ask for comments and feedback, try to reply as many comment as possible treat your reader the way you want to be treated as author
Give them what you expect from them
You need to join other bloggers if you want other to join your blogging community. Visit new and informative blog in your niche leave your feed backs and opinion on post you like add value to their conversation and soon your blog will be flooded with expert views and suggestion from other bloggers.
Accept criticism
You can’t expect everyone to agree with you. Some time you get not s pleasing comments. You can agree or disagree with your reader’s criticism. But never ever insult or attack them. Argue with what has been said and not with who said it.

I love the idea of writing at least 10 posts before promoting. I see so many blogs that only have 1 or 2 posts and they start promoting then the blog disappears. Another great idea is to have about 10 blog posts ideas in your draft pile so that you can call on one of them when you are two busy to think of a new post idea.

A good way to avoid the sandbox is to buy a used domain and make sure it has aged, is not banned and has a useful name. This will really give you a jump start over a new url.
