I read this post and the one is called "Double your RSS Subscriber in 24 hours," the two are very interesting, and above all very useful to any blogger, but I think often is very difficult achieve the people subscribe to rss, because they don´t know what is RSS, and it is also true that many times when the people subscribe then left to visit the blog. Two other methods that can help to encourage comments are allowing DoFollow links (removing default nofollow attributes so that “link juice” is passed to the sites) and installing the KeywordLuv plugin, which significantly helps commenters with SEO because it allows them to choose the anchor text for links.

Overall, it is a good thing to encourage comments because the extra content provided by other people adds more keywords to your posts, which in turn brings in more traffic from the search engines without costing you any more time than it takes to write the original post.

Thats the problem for me too, especially after enabling Full text RSS feed. people like full text feed and get more attracted than short text. But how to drive to your site, really make wise.
