@ Writer Dads your comment section is reward of your socializing with other blogger. commenting on other’s blog is the best way to socializing, and it helps you build your own little network of blogger who can help you promote your blog.

@Tim Comment moderating is essential specially when your blog is dofollow (like Blogger’s Lab) you become a soft target for link spammers.

@Millionaires we all have the same mechanism on our blog and thanks to wordpress programer for this great little code.

you should always respond to your comments… the way i moderate my comments is that a person’s first comment doesnt go live till i accept it… any comments they make after will show right away.. i guess you put a little trust in people

As Blog Tips For Beginners said above, it is good to visit the sites of commenters. I sometimes forget to do this.
I know a lot of people are bothered by comment moderation being turned on, but I find all the comments slip past me and not only might an inappropriate one get by, but I lose the chance to read and reply if moderation is not on.

My blog is only three weeks old, but my biggest surprise so far has been the comment section. It is extremely rewarding to have people respond to what you say. Ignoring the comments just seems silly.

How do I handle comments on my blog? I will always make an effort to reciprocate first-time commenter by visiting his or her site and that’s what I’m doing it here.

Plenty of food for thought. Good article. The best part of this post that I liked was the fact that you mentioned that the commentator has spent some of his valuable time writing a comment and that has to be appreciated. I think bloggers that think like this unfortunately are few and far in between. Thank you sir.
