Every Webmaster is familiar with the power of inbound link from relevant sites and web pages how it passes the page rank or link juice. And many believes that Google solely relay on these links while assigning page rank or authority. Which is not entirely true, these links certainly play an important role in your sites SEO, but they are not the only important links. Your contextual internal links are equally important, Infect Well planed Internal Linking Strategy has greater chance to secure your place in Top 10 result in Google SEPRs.

Internal Links helps you get all of your pages indexed in the search engines by reminding search engine spiders that your old pages still exist and it is worth giving some value to. It improves the usability of your blog as well as And helps you escape Google’s Sandbox prison.

Use Something Better Then Click Here:

Anchor text has an impact upon how your site ranks for those words. It tells search engines (and your reader) what information the link contains, if you use throw away phrase like”click here” as the Anchor text people may click on it (I wouldn’t though) because it is great calls to action, but provide very little in the way of telling the search engines (or the visitor) what the linked page is all about.

Example 1: If I link to my post about Google send box effect post like this.
“To know How to Deal With Google Sandbox Effect Click Here”

You will click on it to read more about Google sandbox, but Google won’t pass value to the destination page for the term “Google Sandbox Effect” it will pass value for “click here”. (Do I want to link higher for click here? Of course not)

Example 2: But If I link to same post like this.
“Follow this link to know How to Deal With Google Sandbox Effect”

You will still click on it, and Google will pass value to the destination page for the Phrase How to Deal With Google Sandbox Effect, as well as Google Sandbox Effect. Because it got my desired Keyword as anchor text and call to action. And you know exactly what to expect when you click that link.

Target Long Tail Keyword in Anchor text:

Competitive keywords require domain age, trusted links from a variety of sources, while Long tail keywords are easier to rank for, and if done right it can drive more traffic then to 10 keywords of your niche, instead of targeting top keywords target less competition Long Tail version (like Blog Search Engine Optimization) rather than targeting core competitive keyword SEO.

rel=”nofollow” Irrelevant Links:

it is wise to nofollow pages like FAQs, Privacy Policies or Disclaimers, which is not relevant to your overall blog content, to control the flow of link juice and point it to more relevant and important pages. For Example first link in anchor text explanation point is nofollow while 2nd link with descriptive anchor text is dofollow

Use Link Title:

Link Title tag lets you adds short description about link’s destination page when user hover cursor on it. its like an alt tag in images. Now this won’t help your SEO, but it will surely help you improve your Blog’s Usability, Use title tag in link while linking to Category or Archive pages which usually don’t have much to add in anchor text.

How to use title tags?
The HTML code for making my name into an anchor is
<a href="your link" TITLE="short description of destination page"> Your Anchor Text <a>
. This tells your reader what to expect from following the link.

Use Breadcrumb Trail:

In my previous post about 15 Blog Usability Tips we saw how it influence usability of your blog and help your reader navigate on your site, but breadcrumb is not only a navigation technique, it’s a hierarchical linking to more important pages of your Blog(site). Which increase the chance for your important page to rank higher for your most important keyword phrase.

Usability Benefits of Internal Linking:

When done right internal linking can improve your blogs over all usability. By linking to relevant content to your readers. Its more effective than your blogs main navigation.

Getting as much linkbacks as possible from other blogs/sites is main goal for every blogger. And we employ any mean necessary to achieve it. And today we are going to discus one such strategy, a strategy that can get you tons of linkbacks in very short time. You all know this strategy very well but only few people try their hand with it (but those who did have seen reasonable growth in their back links).this Tactic is called Link Baiting

What is Link Baiting?
The term Link Baiting is widely talked in BlogSphere, and most of us know what it is. So there is no point in wasting your time explaining it once more. But if some one of you not familiar with the term or have little knowledge of Link baiting then you can read <a/ href="http://www.problogger.net/archives/2006/09/19/an-introduction-to-linkbaiting/" class="snap_shots">An Introduction to Linkbaiting and The History of Link Bait.

Many blogger looks at it as fishing expedition. In order to catch a fish you need bait. And in link Baiting fish is other websites or blogs, and the bait is your content. And by content I mean specially designed contents to get you linked up by the website or blog you are fishing for. Let see how to craft such designer content that might earn you bucket load of linkback.

Widgets or Plugins:
Anything can qualify as linkbait a useful tool, a cool AJAX widget or a great plugins. If you are good with programming and have unique tool or plugin idea in your mind then you are on your way of lots of link back. Give other bloggers a useful plugin that they can use on their blog which point back to your blog. Those who are not good with programming can hire service of E3Internet who create linkbait content in the form of small applications, games, tools or plugins for popular platforms.

WordPress/Blogger Templates:
Looking at the popularity of these blogging platforms offering a free theme for wordpress and blogger blogs can result in ultimate LinkBait. If you are designer with litle knowledge of php and xml. You can try your hand with this strategy, or sponsor a free theme or buy an unlimited license for a premium theme and distribute it free on your blog.

An Interview With An Authority In Your Given Niche:
Another Link Bait method that many blogger been using is an interview with an authority blogger in your niche. It doesn’t matter whether you are new or an established blogger, an interview with an authority in your given niche will influence their reputation to bring traffic to your blog. Be sure to ask questions and gather content that is useful and noteworthy to your readers.

Link List:
One thing that can be seen on many blogs now day is Link List, link list can be a great attention grabber if composed well. Of course these days list posts are everywhere so you’ll need to make your list useful and stand out in some way. One such list that I like the most is “The Best Places to Get Quality Backlink by Yan of thoushallblog.com, this list is about high PR blogs that use Top commenter widget, Yan have many top posts on his blog that have earned him many linkbacks but this particular post have earned him 13 linkbacks and have generate more then 125 comments, which is more then an average link back and comments for Darren Rowse of Problogger.net

These 4 topics can be applied by almost any blog for an instant flood of traffic and links. If you are seeking to increase the traffic to your site, I’d encourage you to give one of these methods a shot, and let me know how it goes.

“Deep Linking” is the most useful but yet highly ignored feature of web 0.2. An effectual deep linking tactic is very important because it helps to increase page views as well as encourage your reader to stay longer on your blog by providing inviting links to content that may interest them, and well nested deep linking can help you improve page ranking of your post and pages.

In this article we are going to discuss such strategies which will help you improve deep linking all over your blog. Implement these tips on your blog and you will see your blog become more users friendly, and most importantly it will make your blog SEO friendly.

Create A Sitemap:
Sitemap is 1st step toward towards helping your reader find what they are looking for, but it is also an easy way to give your self piles of deep linking to your important pages and post. I hope you are not thinking about xml site map because only search spider can read it . Rather think about actual page on your site which list all your post and pages.

You can create an html sitemap for your blog in fraction of minute with this cool plugin called “Sitemap Generator Plugin” from Dago Design, Sitemap generator automatically creates a sitemap for your blog with links to your posts arranged by category.

Frequently Asked Questions Page:
While this page is mainly used to answer most common questions about your blog or site, you can use this page to deep link to your post which you think is useful and can answer your reader’s question.

Create list of 10 or more common questions that your readers asks you. Partially answer them on your FAQ page and provide link to relative post with cute little note like “reader more about …….” For batter SERP when phrasing the question use keyword that readers are likely to use for search (Long Tail key words can be handy here), and your most appropriate key word as anchor text for the link to your post.

Related Post:
Linking to relevant post can help your readers to find additional information about the topic they are reading. Which result in increased page view and batter deep linking. You can manually create related post link at the end of your post, or you can have aplugin doit for you. WordPress users can download the Related Entries plugin which will automatically add related post link at the end of your post.

Show your most popular posts on your sidebar
Linking to your most popular post is another great way to increase page view as well as increase the deep links. Like deep link this can be done manually or automatically. Automatic updating of popular page is easier. Manual updating will require updates and changes whenever you want to feature new posts. While a plugin like MostWanted will eliminate the manual effort. Thanx to Jamie Carter and his Word Press’d 0.4 theme which automatically list my most popular post, latest post, recent comments and tag clouds all in one tab. So I can include other useful things on my blog

Write a series of posts:
This is my favorite strategy of this post. Writing a series of post is useful in many ways; it not only increases the deep link as your series go on, but also gets you piles of new subscriber because of sense of anticipation created by the future post of the series.

If you are writing 1,500 word post, consider breaking it into a series (without spoiling your idea).

Generate Periodic List of Your Popular Post:
This is kind of monthly (can be weekly or quarterly) summery of your blog, which list some of the most popular recent posts on the blog have published. It helps your reader find post which they might have missed. As well as introduce your new readers to some of your best work who may not have had the opportunity to read them.

You can always redo this whole process as you add more and more new content to your blog. You will find more and more opportunity to link your post as your blog grow older
