Once your reader know who you are and what you do. Next thing they want is clear paths to the content that interests them.

    Subscription Option: Make it easy to subscribe by placing your subscriber widget in highly visible location (Above the fold on sidebar)

  • Don’t Try Anything Fancy (Fonts and Color): Stick to true type font and light background, Choose color combinations that are easy on the eyes.

    I couldn’t agree with you more that useability affects the number of return visits. If I find a blog difficult to use and its content hard to access, I rarely return to it. It’s just too much trouble when there are countless other sites I can be spending my (very limited) time at.

    Some nice tips for beginners and novice to use. At one stage I forgot to put my tagline and someone actually asked me what my blog was all about.

    A sites identity is so important that it must never be overlooked. Rather pay someone or create a logo that will be remembered, but still simple.
