Another tip I would add is to ensure that your comments section is clear of any automated spam.

I alway scan through a comments section and if I see spam then I know the author doesn’t really maintain their blog

I appreciate the fact that you often reply to the comments on your posts. I find it frustrating when the author ignores the comments, especially when the comments contain questions that I would like to get answers to.

Great tips my man. Some of them I have been guilty of in the past.
Your tip about reaching out to other bloggers is definitely important.

This is a prime example, You commented on my blog: http://www.integralwebsolutions.co.za/Blog/EntryId/208/Make-your-blog-posts-go-viral-ndash-Ride-the-success-wave-of-others.aspx, thanks by the way, I in turn cam here, read this post, and found it interesting, and am commenting on your post.

The other thing about commenting on other blogs, is that now days one link is allowed to your blog. Other commenter might read your comment and then browse to your blog. Who knows what might happen from there.

All my comments are emailed to me, so that I can comment and reply. It is important to build relationships.
