5 Tips For Creating An Engaging Community Around Your Blog
Every one defines community in a different way. But for me community is a group of like minded people who are gathered and connected in some way. Blogsphere is one large community made of thousands of small one. To build such community you need to respect your readers, maintain healthy relationship with them. Read further to know how to do that.
Describe you idea:
What is your reason for blogging? Whether you are blogging about web 2.0 or web designing, or you are joining John Chow’s bandwagon of Make Money Online. It’s important that your reader know the purpose of your blog. It will help you build your reader base and interested people stick with your blog for more updates and contribute to the conversation.
Give them chance to know you batter
People like to know who is behind it. Give them chance to know you, share few of your personal photos and some recent events of your life. You don’t need to share your whole life with your reader a short “About Me “should do the trick.
Invite comments:
There is more to this then just enabling comment on you blog. You wont get it if you don’t ask, Ask for feedbacks and comment. Leave questions for your reader or simply invite them to share their thoughts.
Leave Room for other:
Don’t put everything possible in to you post, if you will write everything possible about the topic you are not likely to get other adding their view or idea because you’ll have covered what they might have added. Write an open ended post that leaves room for other to join the conversation.
React to comment:
When ever some one leave comments on your post try to respond back to it, it will encourage your reader to continue the conversation and keep coming back to you blog. This way you will convert a one time visitor in to loyal reader.

While all of your points are valid and do work, based on the community around my own blog, shouldn’t you practice what you preach before sending out the message?
For example, where’s your about page? The only way someone might obviously know your name is by looking at your Plurk widget (which you’re clearly not using).
With no about page and many other blogging basics, I question your authority on the subject with a blog that hasn’t reached a full month of age.
@Katy Well dear I certainly practice what i say in public and i have introduce my self in My 1st Post (i am still working on my About me page) and about plurk well i have no real friend there
so plurking around alone sounds stupid to me
by the way i would love to know which other Blogging basics are missing on my blog

yes you are right if you want comment on your blog you are ought to visit others blog and join their community
I think inviting comments works wonders. And especially being specific, by asking questions instead of the generic “leave a comment.” And then, following up with responses to the comments. At some point it will be too much to reply to all of them, but I think not enough bloggers reply to comments even if they only have a small number of them.

You are absolutely right responding back your reader is best strategy to build loyal reader base, why should one take trouble to comment on your post or add to your conversation if you are not bothering to reply back
