I agree "Readers don’t actually Read".
Maybe the titles, that's all.

Good morning!

This is my first visit to your blog - lots of good informative posts here as is this one.

You are so right. We humans have been swamped with so much information over the last decade or so that we "skim" just about everything now. I have often wondered if people still read books or do they just skim them?

I think you wrote this article in a format that all bloggers should use. Headlines, bullets, and sub-headlines. You use them well my friend. More importantly, they get to the point.

Take care,
Chuck

I am always interested in useful content, so I scan first. If the post looks useful and/or interesting, I go for the in-depth read. Good thoughts.

Interesting thoughts. I will now keep my posts shorter and only write the most important information (be more concise). That's very hard for me! I'm verbose. I will also keep in mind that I don't need extraneous words as well as information.

Another thing I learned is that a paper page (8" x 11") is the standard size that the eye likes to read. So it will ALWAYS be hard for people to read a page on the net -- unless it follows this standard. Scrolling is hard for folks. So therefore, making posts is preferrable. i didn't know if you knew that fact about the 8 x 11, perhaps you may want to look that one up (like perhaps google it). It's quite an interesting fact, and may help others to keep their posts shorter!

Thanks for a great post!

I absolutely agree with you, most of us (blog readers) hardly pay attention and read the topic if the topic is long and doesn't fulfill our criteria and aim for the information.

Sometimes the information we are looking for might be small in size and some blogs make the topic quite long enough in such scenario we loose interest.

Good one from you........
